LONGINES CSI BASEL.
The sports program.

The LONGINES CSI BASEL programme follows a fine dramaturgy of events in which the highest value is placed on excitement and variety:

Thursday, January 9, 2020
The eleventh edition of the event begins at 8.30 a.m. with two amateur tests over 120 and 130 cm obstacle height respectively. In the opening jump at 2 p.m. the professionals will compete against each other for the first time. At 5 p.m. the BMW X7 jumps, a jump over 145cm obstacles. Finally, at 8 p.m., the big highlight of the day follows: the Grand Hotel Les Trois Rois Prize – a competition in the handling of jump-offs.

Friday, 10 January 2020
Two more amateur tests will ring in the second day of the jumping tournament from 8.30 a.m. onwards. From 2 p.m. onwards, the professionals will move into the equestrian arena in the fight for the Thermoplan AG prize. This will be followed at 4.30 p.m. by the equally exciting progressive point jumping for the prize of Dach + Holztech GmbH. As the crowning glory of the day, the riders will compete from 7.30 p.m. on in the LONGINES GRAND PRIX, which will be held in a competition with jump-offs and serves as qualification for the Longines FEI World Cup™ on Sunday.

Saturday, 11 January 2020
The amateurs are allowed to show what they and their horses are capable of twice again at 8.15 and 11.30 a.m.. At 2 p.m. the Great Basel Hunting Jumping will take place under the patronage of Abt Automobile AG.  Afterwards, at 3.30 p.m., the Swiss Horse of the Year award ceremony and the Swiss Team Trophy honours will continue. At 5 p.m. the amateurs will ride into the arena for the 7th Helvetia International Amateur Final. And finally, at 7.45 p.m., everything will revolve around the City of Basel Championships, which will be held in a competition with jump-offs. This challenging jumping competition is not only about the prize money, but also about the coveted “Golden Drum of Basel” hiking prize.

Sunday, January 12, 2020
At 10.00 a.m. the professionals are already jumping at the price of the Canton Basel-Landschaft. And at 2.15 p.m. there is a lot going on: an obstacle height of 160cm, with a field of 45 riders. This is no less than the Longines FEI World Cup™ presented by J. Safra Sarasin.
