What a joyful day for Dominik Wisner from Basel. Behind Tobias Schwarz with La Belle from Germany Dominik Wiesner finished second with Quantas. In the final of the Amateur class he won 25’000 Swiss Francs. Wiesner is trained by Hansueli Sprunger, the Sports Director of the tournament in Basel. “This was my best experience” he said. “The long distances in the jump-off where good for my horse. The Zangersheide mare has e special physique, but she is faster as one would think.” He was only missing 22 hundredth seconds, but was pleased with the 5’000 Swiss Francs he won. Tobias Schwarz got the amount of 8’250 for his victory. Third was Hans Meier from Hagendorn with Calando, followed by Stefan Meierhans from Uster with Sun Boy du Chatelat. In total eight riders finished the jump-off clear.
End November the traditional media meeting of the LONGINES CSI BASEL was held in the Grand Hotel Les Trois Rois in Basel. The information concerned the participants, the upgraded Amateur Tour and the show of the famous French horse whisperer Jean-François Pignon. But also the sponsors and partners of the LONGINES CSI BASEL spoke to the attendees, like (see picture, from the left) Juan-Carlos Capelli (Vice-President Longines, main sponsor), Willy Bürgin (Chairman of the organizing committee) and Daniel Saner (Head of the LGT branch office Basel, gold sponsor).
The main event on Sunday of the LONGINES CSI BASEL 2014 will be shown live by Swiss Radio and Television on SRF two. The inclusion of the LONGINES CSI BASEL in the SRF Sport programme is another testament to the quality of this event.
