CSI Basel Awards
Sports personalities to be honoured
To mark the third year of CSI Basel, a new award has been created: the "Award of Honour". This distinction will be given to personalities for outstanding services to equestrianism, and to those who have made major contributions in the periphery of the sport. The award will take the form of a small sculpture combining a staff (Basel's heraldic symbol) and the CSI Basel equine head.
Willy Bürgin, the president of the CSI Basel organising comittee, is responsible for the idea and intends to continue the award in forthcoming years. "These personalities have done a lot for the reputation of swiss equestrianism, and deserve thanks and recognition."
